painting-a-goat

intro

I've got a friend that really likes goats, so I decided to get them one for their birthday.

Unfortuantely, it's only a paper mache goat I found in a local arts & crafts store. They were selling various plain, brown, animal-shaped objects, so I just picked one I thought looked kind of like a goat (admittedly I think it's a sheep). I thought it would be fun to paint it.

To start I gave it a whi...

setting-up-a-git-server

I recently spent an afternoon setting up a public read-only git server. I'm mostly writing it down for my own future reference, however stuff like this is usually useful to somebody out there.

Here's a repository with the important files used to setup this server: https://notabug.org/gearsix/git.gearsix.net.

Firstly, if you're serious about starting your own git server and aren't going to use something like

star-trek-logs

This is a slightly signalling project but I thought it would be cool. Long story short, I wanted to write an example for a tool I recently built.

It's called dati and is an example for libdati. libdati aims to provide a single interface for using any preferred data/template languages.

You can read more about the library here and the tool here.

westerlund-2

If you haven't seen the new landing page for this site, check it out. I'm quite happy with it.

The initial idea was just to choose something quiet, subtle and a little atmospheric. I'm no musician and didn't want to learn how to make the audio clip yet. So I spent ages listening to royalty-free music snippets and finding something fitting. After a half-hour I had a better idea, remembering this: SYSTEM Sounds....

wipeout-in-2020

For the past fourteen years a European and American team of anti gravity researchers have searched for a way to unbind us from the force of gravity, and with the demonstration of the Nx1000 prototype in the Nevada desert, the world was about to change forever. Despite vast opposition along the way, anti gravity transport has spread across the world and has all but solved the world's fuel and pollution problems. Now four manufacturers have developed their own AG craft for the purp...
